Transactions: Cowboys make another RB swap

FRISCO, Texas – The Cowboys are adding another RB to the mix with the addition of Tyler Goodson, who has been on the Falcons' practice squad.

Goodson, who went undrafted in 2023 and initially signed with Packers, spent the last three seasons with the Colts, playing in 33 games with one start. He averaged 4.9 yards per attempt on his 54 carries and has two total touchdowns. He spent the offseason with the Falcons and was among their final roster cuts at the end of preseason, but returned to the practice squad.

To make room, the team waived Israel Abanikanda, who was recently signed from the practice squad. if he clears waivers, the running back could return to the practice squad. Currently, the Cowboys have Javonte Williams, who scored two touchdowns on Sunday night in New York, along with Emari Demercado and now Goodson. The team also uses fullback Hunter Luepke occasionally in the running back spot.
